Glacier High School’s varsity squads performed well in the classroom and in competition during the second quarter.

Glacier competitors earned Montana High School Association/Army National Guard Academic All Team Awards in six extracurricular activities this winter. The award is given to the top five teams that exhibit outstanding academic achievement during the school year’s second quarter.

Academic achievement is determined by calculating a team’s grade-point average during that quarter. Schools are ranked in each sport or activity according to students’ grade-point averages.

Glacier High varsity teams finished within the top three in six winter activities:

n Speech and debate: No. 1 with an average 3.5 GPA.

n Wrestling: No. 1 with an average 3.326 GPA.

n Boys basketball: No. 2 with an average 3.495 GPA, behind Missoula Sentinel.

n Girls basketball: No. 3 with an average 3.602 GPA, behind Great Falls and Missoula Sentinel.

n Boys swimming: No. 3 with an average 3.270 GPA, behind Missoula Sentinel and Missoula Hellgate.

n Girls swimming: No. 2 with an average 3.548 GPA, behind Missoula Sentinel.
