Firefighters douse blaze at Bulldog

The Whitefish Fire Department quickly doused a fire at the Bulldog Saloon in Whitefish after it was reported at 10:37 a.m. Friday.

Chief Tom Kennelly said the fire began in the women’s bathroom after someone threw a cigarette in a trash receptacle. The fire reached the ceiling but caused less than $1,000 in damage, Kennelly said.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man on Big Mountain Road near Whitefish who said his cellphone was stolen Feb. 22 and that someone later racked up $1,000 in fees while in Canada.

Someone broke a sliding glass door and stole money from a home on Montana 35 in Evergreen, according to a Thursday morning report.

Theft was reported after a woman on Fairmont Road noticed that someone had rummaged through her garage and vehicle.

A Shih Tzu and an Irish setter were seen chasing a deer near Twin Pines Drive.

Jewelry was reported stolen on Little Mountain Road. A caller said it was stolen sometime in the last three months.

A man on Willow Glen Drive said he was being threatened by a man to whom he is in debt.

On Eighth Avenue East, a woman reported that someone shot her cat with a BB gun in October.

A motorcycle with two passengers was seen going about 70 mph in a school zone near Rose Crossing, according to a caller.

A man on First Avenue North said his neighbor, a beekeeper, was allowing bees onto his neighbors’ property.

Two men reportedly fought on Granite View Drive after one man tried to repossess the other man’s vehicle.

A burglary was reported at a home on U.S. 2 West after a homeowner noticed muddy footprints in the house.

On North Juniper Bay Road in Somers, a woman reported that her husband was arguing with their roommate who trashed their house and threatened to burn it down.

A woman on Third Street West in Martin City called 911 to report that she was going to kill her husband. The woman was counseled and and given information about Alcoholics Anonymous.

A Kalispell police officer responded to a call from a woman on Sherry Lane, where she reported receiving a strange package that she was scared to open. The officer learned it was a pair of shoes the woman forgot she’d ordered.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 93 North and West Reserve Drive. No major injuries were reported.

A purse was found in Lawrence Park.

Suspicious activity was reported near East Center Street, where man was shouting that “Jesus is coming.”

A woman on Eighth Avenue West said her dogs were attacked by her neighbor’s dog. She decided not to sign a complaint because the neighbors promptly purchased fencing to prevent another occurrence.

Someone reported seeing a delivery truck hit a pole on North Main Street and then drive away.

A caller on Commons Way accused a maid of stealing prescription medication. The medication was later found in the house.

A man was arrested for reckless driving on Airport Road after allegedly harassing another driver by following too closely and repeatedly following the driver around town.

Whitefish police officers responded to a panic alarm at Whitefish High School at 9:35 a.m. Thursday and learned a short time later that it was a false alarm.
