Shannon Lund

Seeking two-year term representing Flathead/Glacier High School District on FVCC board.

Occupation: account executive for Xerox.

Education/Background: B.S. in microbiology from Montana State University. Worked as a medical technologist and microbiologist. Volunteers as Flathead Valley Community College Foundation events coordinator and works with several children’s organizations. Selected in March to fill a vacancy on the college board.

Reason for Running: Lund calls herself a good listener and team player who wants to continue programs that she says have made the college a shining star in the community.

She wants to continue expanding health-care-related studies and partnerships with private businesses for job creation.

With more than 70 percent of students needing financial aid, she said the college must continue to pursue all forms of assistance and work to keep tuition affordable.
