Bozeman takes 2 from Twins
WHITEFISH - If you could throw out the seventh inning, Glacier would have swept an American Legion AA baseball doubleheader with Bozeman on Sunday.
But as it turned out, Bozeman scored seven runs in that inning to win the opener 8-6, and then came back with six runs in the seventh inning of the second game to claim a 10-4 victory.
"It was tough, both teams played good baseball," Glacier coach Lindsay Fansler said.
"It got away from us in the seventh inning. That was the story of the day for sure."
Fansler said Bozeman came up with timely hitting and "it was a combination of what could go wrong, went wrong."
Chris King hit a grand slam home run in the fifth inning of the opener for Glacier. He finished with five RBI.
The Twins were held to three hits in that outing.
Glacier had eight hits in the second game.
"For the weekend, we felt we played good baseball," Fansler said.
"We had good pitching performances by Cody Hill and Connor Donahue."
Glacier (1-4) plays at Libby on Wednesday. That game begins at 6:05 p.m.
