McLeod hurls no-hitter in 1st start for Lakers A
Hank McLeod, in his first Class A American Legion baseball start, threw a no-hitter in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday, leading the Kalispell Lakers to a 10-0 victory over the Bitterroot Bucs.
McLeod struck out six and walked three batters.
"He was tough," Lakers coach Mark Stevens said.
"He threw very hard and was in good command of his pitches all day."
Bitterroot tagged Lakers pitching for 16 hits in the opener, rolling to an 11-3 victory.
The Bucs, 5-3 overall, play the Class AA Missoula Mavericks on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Kalispell, 3-1, plays in the Eureka Tournament on Friday.
The Lakers opened the season Saturday by sweeping Mission Valley B, 21-10 and 14-4.
