C-Falls sweeps Ronan in tennis dual

COLUMBIA FALLS - Undefeated in singles play and at No. 1 doubles gave Columbia Falls 5-2 victories over Ronan's boys and girls on Monday in a Northwestern A dual tennis match.

The victory was the first of the season for the Columbia Falls boys after three losses.

Parker Johnson improved his league record to 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.

Miroslav Zvygelskiy and Vadim Zvygelskiy won at Nos. 2-3 singles. They are undefeated on the season in singles and doubles action.

"Caleb Baumaan won his first match ever," Columbia Falls coach Gary Yee said.

"Kudos to him."

Baumaan won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

In girls play, Gabrielle Stenger cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.

Teammate Natalie Law, however, had to battle in her thrilling 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.

Columbia Falls and Ronan will tangle again today, in Ronan.
