Gas prices take their toll

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday regarding a theft of at least 100 gallons of gas from a storage tank on River Bend Drive.

A woman calling from Seville Lane reported that she had complained about her neighbor’s dog, and now her dog is missing. She wondered whether the neighbor retaliated and had animal control get her dog.

There was a report from Harmony Court regarding a dog that was running loose and ended up taking a toy that belonged to the reporting party’s child.

There was a report of tools being stolen from a truck on Lower Valley Road.

A man calling from North Mission Drive reported items had been stolen from his house, and that he let “a kid” he met at a casino stay there overnight.

A person calling from Dawn Drive reported that he lent a lawnmower to a friend who has failed to return it.

A man who was riding a bicycle on KM Ranch Road reported that a dog chased him and bit his hand, causing significant puncture wounds. An animal warden had the dog quarantined.

A woman called from Haywire Gulch to request that her husband be forced from the house after he threw a plate and scared their children. The couple separated for the night.

A teenage boy reported that his mother threw him down and struck him at a Braig Road residence. The boy ended up staying with his father at a different location.

At about 3:30 a.m. Monday, a person reported finding a woman laying under a street light on Ashley Drive. She was returned to a nearby house where she has been staying.

A man calling from the Diller Road area in Martin City reported that a group of men had threatened to beat him up and chased him into some woods where he was hiding to avoid them. A deputy contacted the man, sent him on his way, and patrolled the area for any suspicious people.

At about 5 a.m., there was a report from Holt Drive regarding a man who was told to leave a residence the previous night but had returned and was banging on the door. The man eventually left, and was contacted by phone by a deputy who advised him not to return to that residence.

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday from a woman who said her children’s bicycles had been stolen from a Seventh Avenue East residence. She said it was the third time the bikes had been stolen.

There was a report of suspicious juveniles who were cussing and throwing knives, basically driving the reporting party out of a public park on Second Street West.

A juvenile with a skateboard entered a business on North Meridian road to report that he was struck by a vehicle and the driver did not stop. The boy was bleeding but refused medical treatment. Remnants of a vehicle mirror from the suspect’s vehicle, a Chrysler, were found on Meridian Road.

Early Monday, there was a report regarding the theft of a phone from a location on First Avenue West.

There was a report of a vehicle theft at an address on Empire Loop. Later, the victim reported that whoever stole the vehicle has been using her bank card to make large purchases at area stores.

A door was kicked in sometime overnight at a house on Grandview Drive. It turned out that two doors were damaged, but it didn’t appear that the building was entered.

There was a report of a fence being damaged at the City Airport, and there was evidence of a break-in at a nearby business where an all-terrain vehicle was missing.

A resident at an apartment complex on Liberty Street reported that a neighbor had been urinating in a cup in a hallway and has recently been making sexual gestures at people. The matter was referred to a mental health case manager.

A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle on Hawthorn Avenue.

A man called to report that his teenage son had been solicited by a man to pose for sexually explicit photographs. The matter is under investigation.

A license plate was stolen from a vehicle at Hutton Ranch Plaza.

There was a report of an intoxicated man sitting in some bushes at Second Street West and First Avenue West.
