Kellen Bates wins singles title at invite
HELENA - Glacier's Kellen Bates took care of business over the weekend, winning four straight matches, two on Saturday, to win the No. 1 singles title at the Helena Invitational tennis tournament.
Bates made short work of Max Dimich-Louvet of Billings Senior, winning 6-1, 6-2 in the final. It was a rematch of last year's Class AA state championship match.
"He (Bates) just played really solid, really worked on different parts of his game that he wanted to work on," Glacier coach Josh Munro said.
Glacier's Liana Bates finished second to Molly Crum of Great Falls High in No. 1 singles.
Glacier's Hailey Blalack finished third at No. 1 singles. Also taking thirds for the Wolfpack were Cami Mathison and Veronica Walton at No. 1 doubles and Ryan Edwards and Ryan Schmauch at No. 2 doubles.
