Fred Ray Browning, 73
Fred Ray Browning, 73, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at his residence in Bigfork.
He was born on July 24, 1937, in Logan, W.Va., to Ace and Chloe (Williamson) Browning. Fred grew up in McKees Rocks, Pa.
He enlisted in the Air Force in July of 1956 and served for 20 years. After his discharge he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and taught occupational education.
He married Catherine Homann in October of 1979.
Fred enjoyed restoring antique furniture, restoring antique automobiles, and fishing. He loved children, but especially his grandchildren whom he played with as if he was their age, laughing uproariously the whole time.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Browning; daughters, Michele Whitlock, Rachel Calles, Amy Rafferty, Connie, Wanda and Sherry; three sons-in-law; seven grandchildren, sons, Steven and Charles; and brothers, Bob Browning, and Pastor Roy Browning of West Virginia.
Fred attended Bigfork Chapel and served as the greeter and head of Men’s Ministries. He wanted everyone to know that heaven is real.
Services for Fred will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the Bigfork Assembly of God.
