Loggers hold on, beat Twins
WHITEFISH - A defensive gem by shortstop Justin Wicka led to the final out and killed a Glacier Twins rally in the bottom of the ninth inning as Libby hung on for a 6-4 Class A American Legion baseball victory on Tuesday.
Wicka made a diving catch with two outs and then backhanded the ball to second baseman Tate Wilson to end the game.
Glacier had the bases loaded at the time.
"That was a great play," Libby coach Kelly Morford said.
"That's his first year full time at shortstop and he's doing pretty well."
Wilson and Alex Cislo both had two RBI for the Loggers (5-6 overall, 1-0 conference).
Libby hosts the Kalispell AA Lakers tonight for a single nine-inning nonconference contest. The first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m.
