Bigfork girls dominate divisional track

MISSOULA - Bigfork left no doubt when it came time to determine who had the best girls track team at Missoula County Stadium on Saturday.

The Valkyries broke the century mark in scoring, piling up a 132-point total, to easily repeat as Western B divisional champions.

Superior was a distant second, 74 points, followed by Thompson Falls, 67.

Eureka, 44, finished seventh.

Mallery Knoll sprinted to victory in the 100 (13.81), placed second in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, and ran the anchor leg on the 1,600 relay.

Other relay members: Jen Egdorf, Quinci Paine and Emily Moxley.

Moxley finished second in the 800.

Eleven events were held on the final day with Bigfork scoring in all but the discus.

Eureka had one individual champ on the final day. Bailey Malecha won the 800 (2:21.43).

Bigfork's Chelsea Olson was second in the 3,200.

Darby won its third-straight boys divisional title, holding off Florence 100-88. Thompson Falls was third, 85.

Bigfork placed seventh, 33, and Eureka was eighth, 17.

Eureka's Hunter Price won the 110 hurdles (15.92).
