C-Falls boys, Whitefish girls track champs champs

POLSON - The Whitefish girls and the Columbia Falls boys claimed Northwestern A divisional track trophies on Saturday.

The Wildcats piled up 201.5 points, more than doubling second-place Ronan-St. Ignatius' 89.5. Libby was third with 82.5.

The Whitefish girls won with 237 points, unseating two-time defending divisional champ Polson, who had 116. Ronan-St. Ignatius was third with 89.5.

Whitefish's Marlow Schulz won the 100, 200 and 800 and the Bulldog's long relay took first.

Derrick Williams of Columbia Falls won both the 800 and 3,200, Nate Thompson won both the javelin and long jump and Anthony Correa was first in the 200 and third in the 100.

Libby's Kody Berget won the 300 hurdles. Polson's Clark Rubel had the top shot put.

Polson's Mesa Starkey won the girls 3,200 and teammate Breanne Kelley was first in the 300 hurdles. Libby's Alex Kulbeck was first in the shot put and Chancey Auge won the javelin.

The Class A state meet starts Friday in Missoula.
