Two grizzly bears captured in Coram

Two grizzly bear yearlings have been captured in Coram and relocated, and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is investigation the death of a grizzly bear that was recently found on the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.

Wardens are seeking any information regarding the bear that was found by two bear hunters. The carcass was retrieved May 21 and it was determined that it had been shot.

Those with information can call 752-5501, the Fish and Wildllife Service at 406-329-3000 or 1-800-TIPMONT. A reward is available for information leading to a conviction.

The two 90-pound Coram yearlings, a male and female, were trapped after a weeklong effort. They had been ranging near residences and getting into dog food, chicken feed and bird seed.

They were relocated to the Spotted Bear drainage on Tuesday.
