Chico the Chihuahua not welcome

A Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy caught a Chihuahua named Chico and returned it to its owner after the canine walked into home on Toftum Lane near Columbia Falls, urinated on a loveseat and left. The owner received a warning and a copy of the county’s dog ordinance.

Two men were seen shooting at a bear on Canyon Creek Road outside Columbia Falls Wednesday afternoon, according to a caller. A woman said the men threatened her and her husband and said they would have to “prove it.” The matter was turned over to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials.

A man on Adams Street in Lakeside was angry after learning his daughter had been choked at school and he wasn’t notified.

A caller reported a likely Internet scam after visiting a website for a business that provided a South Cedar Drive address but was asking customers to wire money to England.

Two dogs were rounded up at a park and returned to their owners near Bernard Road after they reportedly charged a young girl.

Vandals reportedly damaged bank-owned homes on Lower Valley Road.

A deputy responded to a home on Whitefish Stage Road after a woman said her husband was pushing her and taking her keys at about noon Wednesday. The couple were separated for the night.

On Angel Point Road, a woman reported finding fraudulent charges on her debit card statement after the card recently went missing.

An excavator caught fire on a lot off of U.S. 2 East near Columbia Falls. No one was injured.

A man on South Main Street told a deputy that someone was tapping his cellphone and stealing business from him. He had no evidence to support the claim.

A boat was stolen on Holt Drive in Bigfork sometime between August 2010 and Wednesday, according to the owner.

On Willow Glen Drive, a woman said her roommate broke into her locked room while she was gone. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report after several items were stolen from a home on Fourth Avenue East in an apparent burglary. The homeowner said a door was open when he arrived at the residence Wednesday night.

A caller reported seeing a group of youths preparing to fight on East Center Street. The caller said one youth had a baseball bat and was harassing a boy who was walking with two girls.

An assault was reported on North Meridian Road where a man said another man hit him in the shoulder.

Criminal mischief was reported on Second Street East where a caller said a group of youths standing with a baseball bat “looked guilty.” An officer saw no damage in the area.

Two women were cited for shoplifting at a business on Hutton Ranch Road.

Someone egged a vehicle on Second Street West.

A 18-year-old woman on Merganser Drive said her boyfriend assaulted her, injuring her thumb.

Potential sexual assault of a child was reported on Third Avenue East.

Two women on Vanderbilt Drive reported that they are being accused of poisoning a dog.
