Richard Dean Wilson, 74

| May 31, 2011 2:00 AM

Richard Dean Wilson of Polson "passed into eternal life" on May 28, 2011. He was 74.

Dick was born in Kalispell to Kenneth and Mayme (Tibke) Wilson on July 6, 1936. Dick was raised in the Kalispell area and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1954. Dick married Connie Green on August 12, 1956. Dick and Connie raised four children. He was a member of the Montana and Idaho National Guard. Dick worked numerous jobs over the years, but continually returned to his first love — truck driving. Dick was extremely proud of Dick Wilson Trucking, the family trucking business that he and Connie built. His greatest joy was spending time with his family at the lake, camping, and water skiing. In later years, he enjoyed golfing with his family. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete, following them wherever the competition took them. Dick was active in booster clubs, helping to raise money to support the teams and enjoyed being on the sidelines during football games as a member of the chain gang.

Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie; his sons Rick (Karen) of Grass Valley, Calif., Randy (Kari) of Mandan, N.D., and Scott of Polson; daughter, Tami (Paul) of Billings and eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mayme, and brother, Kenny.

Services will be held at Grogan Funeral Home at 11 a.m.  June 3.
