| November 3, 2011 7:00 PM

Lillian Isabel Nelson “gently left this world to be in heaven” on Oct. 31, 2011, in Whitefish.

Lillian was welcomed joyfully into the world on Oct. 18, 2011. She was the daughter of Leif and Gloria Nelson of Whitefish.

Lillian was blessed with a large and loving family and was treasured during her brief time with us. Her older brother and sister loved lavishing her with hugs and kisses. Lilly's father, Leif, was born and raised in Whitefish, is a volunteer with the Flathead Nordic Ski Patrol, and works for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Her mother, Gloria, originally from Huntsville, Texas, came to the Flathead Valley in 2006. She has worked as an occupational therapist at the Hand and Lymphedema Clinic in Kalispell, the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls, the Sports Center in Whitefish and North Valley Hospital.

Lillian is survived by her loving parents, Leif and Gloria Nelson; her sister, Kess; her brother, Benjamin; grandparents, Rick and Marilyn Nelson of Whitefish, and Noah and Pat Speer of Huntsville; great-grandparents, Jim Marrantette and Peggy Saurey-Marantette of Columbia Falls, and Gerald T. and Virginia Heyboer of Tucson, Ariz. She is also survived by aunts and uncles, Jillian and Brett Nail of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mariah and Brian Joos of Whitefish, Elizabeth Speer of Lufkin, Texas, and Andy, Megan and Noah Speer of Richardson, Texas. Lillian also has a large extended family who cherished her.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5150 River Lakes Parkway, Whitefish, with a reception immediately following in the fellowship hall.

Memorial gifts can be made in Lillian's name to either the Glacier National Park Fund for Trees of Memory, or The Whitefish Community Foundation.
