Playoffs return to Kalispell

Class AA football playoff action returns to Kalispell for the first time since the fall campaign of 2005.

The fourth-ranked Glacier Wolfpack (8-2) will host fifth-ranked Billings Senior (7-3) at Legends Stadium tonight in a quarterfinal contest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for students.

Flathead High School hosted the last Class AA playoff football game in Kalispell, defeating Butte 28-14 in a first-round affair six years ago.

Flathead (4-6) has qualified for postseason action again in 2011. The Braves play at top-ranked Billings West (9-1) tonight. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium.

The Wolfpack playoff game will be broadcast on 103.9 FM, The Monster. The pregame show begins at 6:45 p.m.

Doug Manaker is the play-by-play announcer. Mike Hammer will provide the color commentary.

The Braves game can be heard on 95.9 FM, HANK radio. Todd Dowan will provide the play-by-play.

Billings (West and Senior), Kalispell and Helena (Helena High and Capital) all have two schools participating in postseason play.

Butte and Great Falls C.M. Russell round out the eight-team field.

The semifinals will be played Nov. 11-12 with the Class AA championship game Nov. 18-19.
