The Flathead County Election Department will count votes in a different location for this year’s city elections because the main Courthouse in Kalispell remains closed for reconstruction.

The election processing center will be located at the county’s records storage building at 307 FFA Drive off Willow Glen Drive in Kalispell. All absentee ballot counting and election reporting will take place there after the polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Columbia Falls is the only city that will conduct a traditional poll election at Columbia Falls City Hall. The polling booths open at 7 a.m.

Absentee ballots for Columbia Falls and late registration for all elections will end at noon on Nov. 7.

Late registration will resume from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day at the Election Department in its temporary location, 1035 First Ave. W. on the third floor of the Earl Bennett Building.

Ballots for mail-in elections for the Kalispell and Whitefish city councils and Bigfork County Water and Sewer District will be mailed today to active registered voters.

Ballots are due back to the Election Department at 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Whitefish voters have the option of dropping off their ballots at Whitefish City Hall, and Bigfork voters can drop their ballots at the Bigfork Water and Sewer District Office.

Kalispell voters can drop their ballots off at the Election Department’s temporary offices.

Copies of sample ballots and voter information are available online at http://flathead.mt.gov/election.
