Nominees sought for Legends status
Kalispell Public Schools is looking for local legends.
In 2004, the high school board of trustees voted to change the name of Rawson Field to Legends Stadium.
The board hoped to recognize outstanding students, athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators at the facility — Kalispell school legends who have made a significant contribution to the district.
The Legends Stadium selection committee will meet in October to review nominations to determine whether any new legends will be honored this year. To date, 17 people have been inducted into the Legends Wall of Fame.
If new inductees are chosen, they will be recognized at the crosstown basketball game Feb. 2. Inductees will be awarded plaques at a ceremony between the boys’ and girls’ games that day.
Nominations are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, and may be faxed to 751-3416 or mailed to Dan Zorn, assistant superintendent, Central Administrative Office, 233 First Ave. E., Kalispell, MT 59901.
Nomination forms are available at the Flathead and Glacier high activities offices, at the central office or on the district website, www.sd5.k12.mt.us.
