Steven R. 'Grandpa' Eisenbarth, 57

| September 7, 2011 10:18 PM

Steven R "Grandpa" Eisenbarth, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Sept. 4, 2011, while enjoying a beautiful day sailing in Polson Bay.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1953, in Torrington, Wyo., to Paul and Delores (Pfaff) Eisenbarth. He spent his youth in Wyoming on the family farm with his three brothers, Larry, Ronald and Terry Eisenbarth. He graduated with honors from Torrington High school in 1969 with several accomplishments, including thespian performances, state wrestling champion, football star, prom king and senior class president.

He was a talented man, who took great pride in his work. He operated heavy equipment in his younger years, owned and operated a flooring business in Laramie, Wyo., and continued as a master craftsman throughout South Dakota and into Montana in 2002.

He was devoted to his entire family and married his best friend and soul mate, Pamela (Laurenti) Eisenbarth, from the Black Hills, S.D., in 2005 at their Kalispell home. He held a very soft spot in his heart for his son, Cory Eisenbarth, and his daughters, Amy Hubbard, Karessa Atkins and Tonia Westendorf.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, making friends laugh, and attending all athletic and theatrical events in which his 12 grandchildren participate. He valued every moment and was open-hearted and kind to everyone whom he met, treating them like family.

It broke our hearts to lose him and he will be remembered as a man with integrity, strong family values and one man that could always make us smile.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela (Laurenti) Eisenbarth; his children, Cory and Margery Eisenbarth of Whitefish, Amy and Steve Hubbard of Kalispell, Karessa and Eric Atkins of Casper, Wyo., and Tonia and Tony Westendorf of Olney; his brothers, Larry and Donna Eisenbarth of Torrington, Ronald and Linda Eisenbarth of Wheatland Wyo., and Terry and Becky Eisenbarth of Torrington; and his grandchildren, Chris, Brittany and Ashley Hubbard of Kalispell, Savannah, Aiden, Jack, Trey, Calvin and Noah Eisenbarth of Whitefish, Eleanor Atkins of Casper, Wyo., and Haley and Neveah Westendorf of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Eisenbarth; and mother, Delores (Pfaff) Eisenbarth.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, located at 525 Main St., Kalispell, followed with a celebration of his life at 120 Westwood Lane. There will be memorial services in Torrington in the near future.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please make any contributions to the Kidsport Complex in Kalispell.
