Robert Jan 'Bob' Buzzard, 76

Robert Jan “Bob” Buzzard, 76, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at his home in Kalispell.

Bob was born May 19, 1935, to Glen and Marie (Owen) Buzzard in Marion, Ind. Bob was raised and graduated from school in Marion.

Bob then went on to get his associate’s degree from Lower Columbia College in Longview, Wash.

Bob served four years in the Air Force as an E4 and was stationed in Japan. Bob married Delores Bighaus on May 10, 1958, in Longview.

He worked as a contractor for Telephone Utilities in Ilwaco, Wash., manager of Deschues Telephone in Maupin, Ore., manager of Telephone Utilities in Elma, Wash., and construction supervisor for CenturyLink in Kalispell.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and photography.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Marie Buzzard; and other family members, Dorothy, Edna, Dotolene, Sandra, Marylouise and Kevin.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delores of Kalispell; children, Richard Buzzard of Kalispell, and Dennis Buzzard of Morton, Wash.; sister, Sarah Love; grandchildren, Chrystal Buzzard, Chrysalana Pyles, Scott Buzzard, Casey Buzzard, Shasta Buzzard and R.J. Buzzard., great-grandchildren, Jazmine Pyles, Vanessa Pyles, Christian Buzzard and Destiny Pyles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with urn burial following service at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
