BIGFORK - Stillwater swept Bigfork 25-21, 25-10, 25-15 in nonconference volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Cougars dominated the net with 33 kills, 17 from junior Jordan Danz and six by senior Katie Harrel.

Stillwater had seven blocks with Danz and Kathrynn Gerard leading the way with three each.

"We have to work on covering blocks and all that stuff," Bigfork coach Tracy Wicklund said. "We always have to learn from everything we do, whether we win or lose."

Morgan Paolini dished out 27 of Stillwater's 28 assists. Sarah Smith led in aces with four while adding 14 digs.

For Bigfork, Tessa Robertson had five kills, Taylor Peck delivered seven assists, Kianna Wicklund had eight digs and Alanis Stallknecht finished with a pair of aces.

Bigfork (4-2, 1-0) plays at Thompson Falls Saturday.

Stillwater Christian (6-0, 1-0) remains unbeaten on the season.

"They're a very, very good team," Wicklund said.

Kills - Stillwater 33 (Jordan Danz 17, Katie Harrel 6), Bigfork 15 (Tessa Robertson 5). Assists - Stillwater 29 (Morgan Paolini 28), Bigfork 7 (Taylor Peck 7); Blocks - Stillwater 7 (Kathrynn Gerard 3, Danz 3), Bigfork 0; Digs - Stillwater 41 (Sarah Smith 14, Katie Harrel 10), Bigfork 28 (Kianna Wicklund 8, Melissa VanDerveer 7). Aces - Stillwater 11 (Smith 4), Bigfork 5 (Alanis Stallknecht 2).

Missoula Sentinel 3, Flathead 1

MISSOULA - Kylie Schlegel had 11 kills and Hannah Sackett had 11 digs and served four aces, but it wasn't enough for the Flathead Bravettes as Missoula Sentinel defeated the Bravettes 25-16, 25-19, 10-25, 25-12 in a Western AA volleyball matchup.

"Our passing was poor, so our offense never got going," said Flathead coach Leon Wilcox.

By the time the Flathead passing came along, "the hitters weren't really in a groove. Our energy level was inconsistent. Passing was a huge part of that," he said.

"It was frustrating. I don't know how else to put it. We just didn't bring our ‘A" game. We were flat. We didn't put it out there."

Alison Lunde added 17 assists, Timi Severson and Kwyn Johnson contributed three blocks each and Iris Matulevich had 11 digs.

Flathead (1-1, 5-3) plays host on Friday to Helena Capital.
