Dopps scores 3 TDs as Bigfork rolls

CONRAD - Cody Dopps ran for 120 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns as Bigfork improved to 2-1 overall with a 49-12 Class B nonconference football victory over Conrad on Friday.

Dopps scored on runs of 4, 2 and 3 yards for the defending state champs.

Quarterback Colter Mahlum ran 5 yards for one touchdown and passed 34 yards to Connor Coleman for another.

Bigfork, up 7-0 after the first period, scored three touchdowns in both the second and third quarters.

Dopps also had three receptions for 68 yards.

Ninth-ranked Bigfork hosts Plains next Friday in District 7B play.

POLSON - Vince DiGiallonardo ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as Polson upended Anaconda to remain undefeated in Class A play.

The Pirate offense racked up just 246 yards as the defense pinned the Copperheads deep in their own territory again and again.

"Our defense played well and gave us a short field and the offense took advantage of it," Polson coach Scott Wilson said.

Paul McClurg scooped up a fumble and returned it for a 60-yard score in the second quarter. He got another touchdown on a 13-yard run in the third quarter.

The Pirates had 130 yards rushing and 116 yards passing in the game.

"We were pretty balanced tonight," Wilson said.

Polson travels to Columbia Falls Friday.

EUREKA — Chris Ibach scored four touchdowns, all in the first half, as Eureka improved to 2-1 with a Class B nonconference victory over St. Ignatius.

Ibach scored on runs of 8, 12, 30 and 35 yards. He had 10 carries for 127 yards rushing before leaving the game with a sprained ankle.

Eureka’s Bryton Guckenberg, an all-conference wide receiver/defensive back, also left the game with an injury.

Quarterback Ryan Holder had a big night, completing 9 of 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. He threw one interception.

Bryce Barthmess had six receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns. His TD catches covered 14 and 57 yards.

Eureka’s Dusty Schlund returned a blocked punt nine yards for a TD.

Eureka coach Ed Newell said defensive end Caleb Curtiss “had a great defensive game.” Curtiss was involved in 15 tackles.

STEVENSVILLE — Caleb Vance threw three long touchdown passes to Josh Lords and ran 7 yards for another score as Stevensville cruised to an easy Class A victory over Libby in nonconference play.

 Vance’s TD strikes covered 21, 60 and 64 yards.

Micah Germany threw a pair of touchdown passes for Libby and Patrick Valentine kicked a 26-yard field goal.
