Missing hunter found after search

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office participated in a search for a missing hunter Saturday.

According to a release from the department, a 67-year-old hunter from Texas was separated from his group shortly before nightfall Friday, and members of the group were unable to find him. Undersheriff Jordan White, Brian Johnson with the Flathead County Mountain Rescue Team and Red Eagle pilot Jim Pierce searched the area near the boundary of the Bob Marshall and Great Bear wilderness areas where he went missing.

The man was found walking in the bottom of the Dean Creek Drainage Saturday morning. He walked off the trail the night before and stopped when he realized it, reaching the creek and following it out after the sun rose. The significant backcountry search was the first of the fall hunting season.

A person was arrested for driving under the influence on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

Reports of shots heard were taken on Nicholson Drive in Kalispell and on U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls.

Reports of fraud were taken in Columbia Falls and on Ridgewood Drive in Kalispell

The Kalispell Police Department responded to a car accident on Northridge Drive near U.S. 93 North where a man struck a light pole. He walked up to the caller’s car with blood all over him. The caller believed the man may have been drinking.

His vehicle was stuck on guard posts with massive front-end damage. He was believed to have a broken hand and facial injuries. The man returned to the scene and told officers his father would be taking him to the hospital.

It was reported that someone pulled a switchblade knife on a woman on Hutton Ranch Road.

A man reportedly was going door to door on West Bowman Drive telling people he and others were opening a medical clinic and wanted to give the homeowners a prize. The caller was afraid they were trying to case the neighborhood.

A bicycle was reported stolen from in front of a casino on East Idaho Street.

A man caught attempting to steal a basket full of items from a business on First Avenue East North was reported to be cooperative while waiting for police to arrive. He was arrested.

It was reported that a man on a 10-speed bicycle was slamming side mirrors in on cars on U.S. 93 North.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office made a disorderly conduct arrest after responding to a report of suspicious activity on First Street East.

An incident of criminal trespass was reported on U.S. 93.

Officers responded to a report of flooding on Seventh Avenue North West.
