Deconstructing the Memorial

Conner Masur, left, and Robert McCarvel, both students at Saint Matthew's, remove flags from the memorial outside the Kalispell Fire Department. On Friday, September 9th, staff and students from Saint Matt's along with law enforcement and emergency responders marched 343 flags to the fire departmetn in honor of the first responders who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. According to Dominick Kovacevic the flags were to be taken down last week but the fire department asked if they could keep the memorial up a while longer as people were still stopping by on a regular basis.
