Local newspapers have begun offering big prizes online

The Daily Inter Lake and its affiliated members of the Flathead Publishing Group have rolled out big-money prizes as part of a new promotional venture called Flathead Deals.

“This is an exciting opportunity for both our readers and our advertisers,” said Publisher Rick Weaver. “Our readers can participate by registering for free online for the chance to win valuable prizes, and our advertisers get out the message about their stores and products to a whole new audience.”

Currently, two giveaways are running at www.dailyinterlake.com/contests, which are geared toward the upcoming hunting season.

The Hungry Horse News is running a contest that features a first-place prize of a $750 gift certificate toward taxidermy services from Majestic Elk Trading Post in Columbia Falls, and a second-place prize of a $500 gift certificate. Winners will be selected by random drawing on Oct. 1.

The Daily Inter Lake, meanwhile, just started a contest featuring a $1,000 gift certificate to Snappy Sport Senter in Evergreen. Winners will be selected by random drawing on Oct. 9.

To enter, just “like” the Hungry Horse News or Daily Inter Lake Facebook page for each contest respectively and fill out the entry form online.

The Inter Lake and the weeklies in the Flathead Publishing Group are utilizing contest technology developed by Second Street Media Solutions for their giveaways. In addition to the Hungry Horse News, the Whitefish Pilot and the Bigfork Eagle will participate in future contests and giveaways.
