Artists on display at Local Color Studio Tour
Julie Wulf works on a silk painting of the view from her studio, a piece she has titled “Spring on Peaceful Bay,” Thursday afternoon in Lakeside. She is one of 17 local artists and artisans working in diverse media — from glass to leather to painting to pottery — taking part in the Hockaday Museum of Art’s Local Color Studio Tour. According to Brian Ekland, communications director, the goal is to celebrate local artists and to get people out to see them so people can experience live demonstrations of how the work is made, ask about the artists’ inspirations and learn about the skills and talent that go into the creation of these works of art. The tour takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday throughout the Flathead Valley. For artist information and a map, visit www.hockadaymuseum.org.
