Nogueira-Rodriguez-Walters

Oran and Victoria Walters of Kalispell announce the engagement of their son, Cory Walters, to Lia Nogueira-Rodriguez, daughter of Jose Ramon and Maria del Carmen Nogueira-Rodriguez of Irapuato, Mexico.

The bride-elect graduated from the High School Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey-Irapuato Campus, Mexico, in 1995, received a Bachelor of Science degree in food science engineering from the University Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey-Querétaro Campus, Mexico, in 1999; a Master of Science degree in agricultural economics from University of British Columbia in 2004; a Master of Science degree in statistics from Washington State University in 2008; and a Ph.D. in economics from Washington State University in 2008. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.

Her fiance graduated from Flathead High School in 1996; received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from Montana State University in 2002; a Master of Arts degree in agricultural economics from Washington State University in 2003; and a Ph.D. in economics from Washington State University in 2008. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.

The wedding is planned for Jan. 7 in Irapuato, Mexico. The couple will reside in Lexington.
