Man admits to bashing up his pickup

The Kalispell Police Department responded Saturday evening to a report that kids were bashing a vehicle with hockey sticks in a parking lot off First Avenue East North. Police detained and counseled a man who admitted that he was taking an ax to his own pickup truck.

A caller on Eighth Street West told police that someone kicked in the shop door and stole a bicycle. The house was broken into as well.

A man was cited and released for shoplifting when police responded to a call on First Avenue East North.

At about 11 p.m., two amorous juveniles in a car in Lawrence Park were advised of the park rules and asked to move along.

Earlier Saturday, a caller on Cyclone Drive reported a wedding ring taken and pawned, possibly by a daughter and her friend.

A woman found lying on her back on a walkway told responders that she didn't want anyone bothering her any more. She wanted to be able to just enjoy the sunshine.

A caller on Liberty Street said his bicycle lock was stolen.

A bag of merchandise was reportedly taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at a store on North Main Street.

Early Sunday morning, a man told police that his teeth got busted out when his face got bashed in with a beer bottle.

A caller on U.S. 93 North said three males were shining a green laser on employees showing up for work and at the security cameras.

A broken water main was flooding the crawl space under a house on Cyclone Drive.

Plates were taken from a vehicle on Fifth Avenue East sometime during the night.

A man found sleeping in a portable house type of structure that he set up behind a building on North Meridian was asked to move along after a woman called police.

Sunday afternoon, CDs were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Harrison Boulevard.

A caller at a business on U.S. 93 North told police that someone took the tips from the tip jar. The caller had a credit card receipt from the suspect.

A caller on U.S. 93 South wanted to know if she should go to the hospital after she was stuck by a diabetic-type needle that she picked up out of a flower basket.


The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to a disorderly conduct reported on Sunrise Boulevard at about 1:38 a.m. Saturday. An arrest was made for simple assault.

At about 1:58 a.m., deputies made an arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunrise Boulevard.


A caller on Eighth Avenue West reported a residential burglary to the Polson Police Department at about 6:09 a.m. Saturday.

Police responded to a theft reported on First Street West later that morning.


A caller reported animal cruelty on East Second Street to the Whitefish Police Department at 9:03 a.m. Saturday.

Later that afternoon, police responded to a verbal disturbance reported on Park Avenue.

At about 8 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on East Second Street.

Police responded to three fights reported early Sunday morning, one on East First Street, one on Baker Avenue and one on Central Avenue.

Callers reported disorderly conduct on Colorado Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. and again at about 4:19 a.m.
