Charles 'Chuck' William Major Sr., 61

Charles “Chuck” William Major Sr., 61, passed away on Sept. 23, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, due to complications after a heart procedure.

Charles was born on Feb. 4, 1950, in Kalispell to Julius J. and Helen (Wood) Major. He grew up in Kalispell and went to grade school and high school in Kalispell.

He married Kathy Lynn Best on April 9, 1971. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary; with their union they were blessed with four children.        

Charles owned and operated Major Construction since the early 1990s.

He was a devoted witness of his god Jehovah whom he loved, and loved to talk about the promises held out in the Bible, including the promise that “all those in the memorial tombs will come out.” (John 5:28, 29); the inhabitant will not say ‘I am sick’” (Isaiah 33:24), “and God will wipe away every tear from their  eyes; there shall be no more death, nor pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4); and “Truly I tell you today you will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43).

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Julius J. Major; and sisters, Helen Janel Major-Seaman and Judith Marie Major-Eayrs.

He is survived by the love of his life, Kathy; and his children, Charles Jr., and his wife, Nicole, and their children, Charles III and Syvanna; Heath Major and his daughter, Alix; Tamara Major-Kaufman and her children, Illyssa and Jay Ryan; and Seth Major and his wife, Amber, and their children, Leila and Lilly; his mother, Helen F. Major; and brothers, James J. Major and Wintzel T. Major.

Memorial services will be held for family, friends, business associates and all who have come to know and love Charles at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Valley View Court off of West Reserve. A luncheon will follow services at the Creston Grange. Please bring a covered dish.
