Eunice Louise Shevenko, 99

Eunice Louise Shevenko, 99, passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

Eunice was born in Whitefish on Jan. 13, 1912, to Calvin M. and Louise (Lano) Bonner. She attended Whitefish public schools, graduating with the Class of 1930.

She entered into service with the Great Northern Railroad at Whitefish on July 4, 1930, retiring from the Burlington Northern in August of 1974.

Eunice was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Whitefish and St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Kalispell. She joined Chief Ignace Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Kalispell, on Dec. 7, 1937; National No. 304879.

Eunice married Sam Shevenko in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Aug. 20, 1956. They resided in Whitefish until April 1973 when a move was made to Kalispell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Madeline (Bonner) Waters and Lucille (Bonner) Beck; a brother, S.T. Bonner; two nephews; and one niece.

Eunice is survived by three nieces; one nephew; and other relatives.

Funeral services for Eunice will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Burial will take place following services, at Whitefish Cemetery.
