Fire starts after drunk man rolls car

A Flathead National Forest spokesperson reported a small, human-caused fire was detected five miles north of Columbia Falls in the Canyon Creek area. It was quickly contained and controlled.

Fire danger on the Flathead National Forest remains high, and people using the forest are warned to use extreme caution with any ignition sources and ensure all campfires are completely out.

Kalispell Police Department officers responded to an accident on Foys Lake Road where a drunk man rolled his car onto its roof. A fire started inside the vehicle before the man was eventually freed.
