Mariners lose late at Legion A Divisionals

BURLEY, Idaho — The Mission Valley Mariners gave up a late lead to Rocky Mountain (Boise) in the second round of the Class A Region American Legion baseball tournament.

The Mariners led 2-0 after the third inning thanks to back-to-back one run innings. Nick Crawford was in control on the mound, blanking the Avalanche through six innings, but got caught in the seventh, giving up three runs and the lead.

Mission Valley couldn’t find a run in the final two innings, losing 3-2 and dropping into the loser-out bracket. 

Zeke Webster-Yaqui led the Mariners at the plate, going 1 for 3 with a double. Crawford allowed just three hits in the complete-game loss.
