Mission Valley moves to semifinals with blowout win

BURLEY, Idaho — The Mission Valley Mariners moved into the final day of the Regional tournament with an emphatic win over Burley, Idaho on Monday, beating the Green Sox 16-3 in seven innings, racking up 22 hits in the win.

Justin Evertz had a huge game, going 4 for 6 with a home run and four RBIs.

Robbie Gauthier allowed just seven hits, only two through the fourth inning, in a complete game, six strikeout performance on the mound.

The win puts Mission Valley into a semifinal against Rocky Mountain (Boise) today at 2 p.m. The Avalanche are the only team to beat Mission Valley in the tournament, winning 3-2 on Saturday.

The winner of that game will play Burley in the championship game at 6 p.m.
