Work under way on 2 roads

The Montana Department of Transportation began work Thursday on U.S. 2 West of Kalispell from mile post 113 to 114.

This project will fill the rutted and distressed areas of the highway. Crews will also be working on intermittent sections of Whitefish Stage Road from West Reserve six miles north.

Weather permitting, the anticipated completion will be Sept. 1.

Single lane closures and short delays should be expected during peak hours. Motorists are reminded to watch for work crews and equipment as well as signs indicating reduced speed limits. Posted limits are enforced until signs indicate that the work zone has ended. Fines double in work zones.
