Porch leads Glacier boys to win at Great Falls Invitational

GREAT FALLS — The Glacier boys ran away with the Great Falls Invitational title, posting a team total of 584 over the two day tournament to win by 12 strokes. The Wolfpack’s second round total of 287 was 10 strokes better than any other team on Tuesday at Eagle Falls Golf Club.

Glacier’s Ryan Porch won the individual title with a 4-under-par 67 in the second round, totaling 137 for the tournament to win by four strokes. Porch was the only golfer to post two rounds under par.

Logan Iverson finished tied for second, posting a total of 141. He split second with Whitefish’s Art Doorn, both golfers shooting a 2-under 69 on the last day. Ryan Keenan was the top golfer for Flathead finishing at 150 in 13th place.

On the girls’ side, Glacier finished in second place as a team, just two shots behind Billings West with a total of 684. The Wolfpack girls made up seven shots on the Bears, shooting a team round of 337 on Tuesday.

Wolfpack freshman Teigan Avery finished in second place, just one shot behind Missoula Sentinel’s Kortney McNeil. Avery shot a second round 76 to finish at 155 for the tournament. Katie Fyall was the high finisher for Whitefish with a 187 and Morgan Knutson led Flathead with a 199.
