Swan River School in Bigfork needs help in voting for a chance to win a technology grant.

The school Parent Teacher Organization nominated the kindergarten- through eighth-grade school for the “Power A Bright Future” grant program sponsored by Clorox to fund projects that help children.

The group, with help from Swan River teacher Shelley Emslie, submitted a project to improve students’ access to technology.

Swan River School is entered under the “explore” category and is currently ranked 443rd out of 1,595 entries. The No. 1 spot is a Computers on Wheels project from White Pine Middle School in Saginaw, Mich.

Projects with the top votes from each of three categories will receive $25,000 grants. Additionally, judge’s choice and voter’s choice winners each will receive $25,000 grants.

Children 13 and up may vote daily at www.powerabrightfuture.com, or text “1356pbf” to 95248. Voting ends Dec. 19.

The program is available to accredited public and private schools. Contest winners will be notified early in 2013.
