Woman fears for unknown cat rescuer

An extremely concerned woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after seeing an ad on Craigslist under the community section stating that someone found a cat and took it into his home while looking for the owner.

The woman said she was afraid the people may be in danger of getting rabies and that the picture was not of a cat but of some unknown wild animal, which made her fear for the kindhearted cat-carer’s safety. She was advised that the photo was of an opossum, which is not found in the area, and that it appeared to be a joke.

An observant out-of-state resident saw a teenager accompanied by several other teenagers throw a bicycle into Flathead Lake. The woman said she read in a newspaper while in Kalispell that this had happened before and wanted to make sure she reported it.

A dedicated loss prevention employee at a U.S. 2 East department store managed to recover all of the merchandise that a shoplifter attempted to steal, but was unable to catch the actual shoplifter.
