RONAN — Despite missing five starters, the Flathead wrestling team won a pair of duals in Ronan, beating the host 53-29 and topping St. Ignatius 65-24.

“What we were most happy with was we wrestled well and we were missing five starters,” Flathead coach Scot Davis said. “I was kind of concerned about tonight, especially with Ronan, because they’ve got some tough kids.”

Davis said Cody Settle had a key pin at 130 pounds in the win over Ronan.

“He got a big pin, which really changed the whole momentum of the meet,” Davis said.

With the two wins, the Braves improved to 8-6 in dual meets this season.

“One of our goals this year was to finish the year with a winning record, and I told the guys in order to do that we really needed to win tonight,” Davis said.
