Mat Cats win Buzz Lucey Invitational
EUREKA — Columbia Falls had five individual champions and also claimed the team title on Saturday at the Buzz Lucey Invitational wrestling tournament.
Shonn Roberts (112), Josiah Osborne (130), Chase Ramberg (145), Aaron Vick (189) and Matt Erhart (215) were the individual winners for the Mat Cats, who finished with a 215 team score.
Whitefish was second with 145 points. The Bulldogs had one individual champion — James Buckley (98)
Libby came in third, 131 1/2. Taking individual titles for the Loggers were Ty Height (105) and Sklyar Higareda (135).
Host Eureka placed fifth. Individual champs for the Lions were Zach Durden (119) and David Wilson (171).
“David Wilson had a very solid tournament,” Eureka coach Dan Lemer said.
“He wrestled the best he has all year.”
Lemer said the Lions had eight of their 10 wrestlers place in the top four.
