Stray bobcat returned to owner with warning

A School Addition Road resident called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office with a large feline problem after seeing a bobcat with a collar in her back yard. Shortly after, she saw a youth across the street petting the animal. An animal control officer captured the bobcat and returned it to its Klondyke Loop home, informing the cat’s owner that he needs to be more careful about keeping the animal contained.

A South Cedar Drive resident reported possible drug activity after witnessing someone in a passing vehicle throw something into the yard and another person run out and pick it up. The resident said they had seen the vehicle at the residence on a regular basis.

A girl was reported to be using drugs on Hutton Ranch Road. The person who called police said the girl had been working at a business there all night and that management had been told that she was high but didn’t make her leave.

A Helena Flats Road man reported his ex-wife tried to run him over in the Helena Flats School parking lot and that a man also threatened to kill him and assaulted him.

A man who was assaulted last Saturday decided he wanted to press charges against the aggressor.

A family fist fight on Panoramic Drive ended with one of the sons being arrested and transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center.

Several youths were reported spinning brodies and driving very fast on South Cedar Drive.

A Kienas Road resident found the hood of his or her vehicle open and footprints all over the place before noticing the battery had been stolen.

A man stole three cans of beer from a Woodland Park Drive business.

A Kalispell Police Department officer spoke with a man on Fourth Avenue West who had been seen hanging around Flathead High School and walking through the property. A school employee who knew who the man was contacted an officer to speak with him. The officer told the man that due to recent events, it would be recommended that he not hang around or walk through the school property.

An observant passerby saw two people get out of a nice sport utility vehicle in the parking lot of a U.S. 93 business, then proceed to stand in a nearby island in the road and ask for money with signs. One of the men later left on a nice bicycle, possibly to panhandle at another location.

Officers dropped off a man at another location after picking him up on Ninth Avenue West, where he was trying to break a window to get back inside his sister’s home.

A jealous soon-to-be ex-wife was reported heading to an East Idaho Street business to kill a woman who had reportedly been having an affair with her husband. The wife changed her mind and headed to Columbia Falls instead. Her rival was advised how to apply for a restraining order against the wife.

An officer was dispatched to Fourth Avenue West after a pastor reported two boys peeing on his vehicle, but the pastor apparently was not receptive to what the officer had to say.

A person riding a horse down the sidewalk on South Main Street was reported by another person who was concerned it was a safety issue.

A Fourth Avenue East resident returned home to find the door broken, a painting missing and a computer smashed.

A man was arrested after officers responded to a bar on U.S. 93 South, where a man on probation was reported drinking.

A man was arrested after officers responded to a report of two motorists racing on U.S. 93 South.

A man stole two bottles of beer from a Third Avenue East North business then fled in a Mercedes.

A motorist was arrested on East Idaho Street.

A motorist ran into a building on East Idaho Street.

An aurally sensitive Texas Avenue resident complained to the Whitefish Police Department about a neighbor’s dog that was barking all the time. After that situation was resolved, the resident reported that the barking had ceased, but that a grader on the road was making even more noise.

A hospitalized East Seventh Street man reported his sister wouldn’t give him his car keys. He was advised to contact Columbia Falls Police after his discharge if his keys weren’t at home because that is where his sister lives.

A Terrace Court resident contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after he saw a person wearing a big black coat take off running when he let his dog out. The report came after several of the resident’s neighbors’ vehicles were broken into the prior day.
