BIGFORK — The Bigfork girls went on a 19-0 run in the second half to blow away Whitefish 43-26 on Friday night.

The Valkyries held Whitefish scoreless in the third quarter, turning a one-point game into a 20-point lead with less than eight minutes to play. Junior Tessa Robertson made her mark in the frame, dominating the game from the post. She led Bigfork with 15 points.

“Tessa took over in the third quarter,” Bigfork coach Mark Hansen said. “She helped us out down low and everyone else picked up the slack. We were able to do a nice job.”

Riley Coleman had nine points for Bigfork and Marissa Hiza scored 8.

Simone Craft led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points.

“We improved a little bit tonight,” Hansen said. “Any win for a young team is a confidence builder.”

Bigfork will host St. Ignatius tonight at 4:30 p.m. and Whitefish is hosting Frenchtown at 5 p.m.
