A new iPhone, iPad and Android app to be released Jan. 1 will help Montanans more easily and quickly connect with members of the 63rd Montana Legislature.

The app contains detailed and searchable contact, staff and committee information for Montana’s state representatives and senators.

The app was developed by the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association, Montana Telecommunications Cooperatives and Montana Independent Telecommunications Systems, contains detailed and searchable contact, staff and committee information for Montana’s state representatives and senators.

“This application is ideal for legislators, the media and anyone who wants to contact their state senator or representative, or keep up on the happenings at the state Capitol,” said Dave Wheelihan, chief executive officer of the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association. “It is designed to be the best possible reference and research tool for people who are interested in or work with Montana legislators.”

The app is believed to be the first of its kind in Montana.

The 63rd Montana Legislative Assembly app features:

v A functional database of all Senate and House members

v Contact, staff and committee information

v Quick and easy search function

v One-click call or e-mail ability

v One-click links to legislators’ Facebook and Twitter feeds, when applicable.

Beginning Jan. 1, Apple iPhone and iPad users can find the $1.99 app by searching for “Montana Legislature” in the App Store.

Android device users can find that app, also $1.99, by searching for “Montana Legislature” in the Google PlayStore.

For years, the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association has produced the print directory of the Montana Legislature. The same information now will be available through the app.

Print versions of the directory will still be available at the Capitol and at the MECA office in Great Falls, beginning Jan. 7.
