Fire causes $200,000 in damage

A burning truck caused an estimated $200,000 damage Thursday night in Kalispell.
Crews from five fire departments responded Thursday night to a fire at Northwest Drywall in Kalispell. They eventually discovered that the fire was confined to a large delivery truck parked inside the building.
The Kalispell Fire Department was dispatched to 160 Eighth Ave. W.N. just before 11 p.m. The first firefighters on the scene found smoke billowing from all sides of the commercial building.
An offensive attack was made to extinguish the fire in the warehouse area of the building. Firefighters found the smoke was pouring from the delivery truck.
Fire did not extend to the building, but there was heavy smoke damage and minor water damage throughout the structure.
Because of the size of the building, a second alarm was initiated to bring more personnel to the scene.
Assisting agencies included the Kalispell Police Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Whitefish Fire Department, Smith Valley Fire Department, South Kalispell Fire Department, NorthWest Energy and Flathead Electric Cooperative.
There were no reported injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
It is estimated there was $200,000 in property damage and equipment loss, according to a news release from the Kalispell Fire Department.
