Glacier sends 1 relay, 3 individuals to state swim finals

GREAT FALLS - Glacier qualified three individuals and one relay for today's finals at the 44th annual state swimming championships at Swarthout Fieldhouse pool.

MaKenna Siebenaler posted the third- and fourth-best times, respectively, on Friday in the 50 (35.94) and 200 (2:03.82) freestyle preliminaries.

Logan Streit finished third in the 50 (23.26) and 100 (50.91) freestyle, and Maxie Scroggs had the fourth-best time in the 100 backstroke (1:03.58).

Glacier was fifth in the boys 400 freestyle relay (3:40.50).

The top six finishers in Friday's preliminaries advance to the finals. Those placing sixth through 12th move on to the consolation finals.

Swimming begins at 11 a.m. today. No team totals were kept Friday. See B3 for results.

C.M. Russell is going for its fifth straight girls title, while Helena High is looking to repeat on the boys side.

Glacier's Jacob Williams just missed out on the finals, qualifying seventh in the 200 (1:57.29) and 500 (5:16.84) freestyle.

The Glacier girls and boys were also seventh in the 200 freestyle relay.
