Someone could purchase a Kalispell house on the cheap if they submit the winning bid to Flathead County commissioners.

Commissioners agreed to accept bids for a house and two outbuildings at 811 W. Wyoming St. on county fairgrounds property.

The successful purchaser must remove the buildings by March 30. The buildings and debris must be removed by the buyer, but the footings and foundation can stay.

The buildings are “in a state of disrepair,” Deputy Flathead County Attorney Tara Fugina said, and have an estimated value of $2,000.

Sealed bids must be submitted to the county commissioners’ clerk by 5 p.m. March 2. Bids are scheduled to be opened at 10:15 a.m. March 5.

People may schedule inspections of the property before the bid deadline by contacting the fair office at 758-5810.

An inspection has revealed no asbestos in the house, Fairgrounds Manager Mark Campbell said.

If no one bids on the property, the county will have the structures razed.
