Minority farmers in Flathead and Lincoln counties are being asked to join the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency minority farm register.

Signing up for the register allows farmers to receive information about USDA opportunities, according to John Nahrgang, executive director of the Flathead and Lincoln County Farm Service Agency.

The register “is an outreach tool to reach underserved farmers and ranchers who are not currently enrolled in USDA loan, farm or conservation programs,” Nahrgang said.

Farmers can pick up an informational pamphlet and registration form at the USDA Service Center at 133 Interstate Lane in Kalispell between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.

Farmers can also contact Nahrgang at 752-4242, ext. 2 for more information.
