Flathead Sled Dog Days 2012

Ozzy a 13-week-old Malamute gazes intentently as the dog team next to them gears up for the race on Saturday morning at the Flathead Sled Dog Days in Olney. Ozzy, part of a litter of 9 called the Hard Rock Litter, belongs to Twila Baker of Garrison, Mont. When he reaches 5 months he'll begin training for a spot on the Quinault Team but he won't race with heavy loads until he is at least 18 months. Baker said this type of racing is what these dogs will be doing so she brings the pups out to socialize them with people and other dogs.
