William 'Dick' Eugene Frey, 62

William “Dick” Eugene Frey, 62, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at home in Kalispell.

Dick was born in Omaha, Neb., on Dec. 16, 1949. He moved to Sacramento, Calif., with his family at age 5. His adolescence was an obsession of Scouting, segueing into Little League, Pony League and basketball, of which he excelled.

At 15, the family moved to Los Angeles. Dick attended Hawthorne High School. While there, he made many friends which he kept in contact with his whole life.

At 18, Dick enlisted in the Navy and did a tour of Vietnam. It was after his discharge that he found his true home in Kalispell. His joys in life were true “Montana style” fishing, hunting, skiing and golf.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Frey.

Dick is survived by his mother, Betty M. Morgan, and stepfather, Dr. Rev. Frederick T. Morgan; sisters, Janet M. Cohen, Theresa A. Harrington and Denise L. Frey; nephew, Sean R. Boynton; and close friends, Bob Zahller, Ron Sheppard and Mike Endicot.

There will be no service. No flowers, please. Any donations to the American Cancer Society in Dick’s name will be appreciated.
