A half-inch scale model of the courthouse fills the second floor display case at the newly renovated historic courthouse on Thursday afternoon in Kalispell. The model made by Don Green and painted by his daughter, Sheryl Hester, is on loan from the Museum at Central School at least until the end of February.

People who followed the nine-month renovation process at the Flathead County Courthouse have a chance to see the results at an open house today - Thursday, Jan. 12.

The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at the courthouse on Main Street in Kalispell. An official rededication ceremony and ribbon cutting are planned at 5:30 p.m. in the commissioners' chambers on the third floor.

Refreshments and tours are planned at the event, which is sponsored by the Daily Inter Lake, Glacier Bank and CTA Architects Engineers.

Guided tours begin in the foyer of the first floor at 3:15, 4, 4:45 and 6 p.m. People can tour on their own any time during the open house.

The Big Sky Fiddlers play from 6 to 7 p.m.

Members of the county museum board have filled the display cases with a variety of historical displays for public viewing, too.

Posters showing before and after photos from the $2.7 million restoration project are to be displayed throughout the building. CTA Architects Engineers personnel created those pieces.

A looping slide show of photos from the construction effort, along with some historic photos, will run on the big screen inside the commissioners' chambers.
